Description
Delicious brown butter chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and slightly crispy at the edges.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks, browned)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until deep golden brown and nutty, about 5-7 minutes. Pour into a large bowl and cool for 10 minutes.
- Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the cooled butter; beat with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Mix in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract, beating until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough into heaping tablespoons and drop onto prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden and centers just set.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer bag for up to three months.
