Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, eggs, ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped bell pepper if using.
- Mix everything together until well combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or on a lined baking sheet.
- Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top of the meatloaf for added flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a mix of ground beef with some fat (like 80/20) for a juicier meatloaf. Do not over-mix the meat. Enhance the flavor by adding herbs like parsley or thyme.
