Ingredients
- 1 1/4 kilograms beef
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 fresh lemons, juiced
- 3 medium potatoes
- 1 can liver spread
- 3 star anise
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 tablespoons margarine
- 60 grams grated cheese
- 2 bell peppers
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 large onion
- 1 beef cube
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Marinate the beef in lemon juice, soy sauce, and ground black pepper for about one hour.
- Strain the marinade and set aside.
- Fry potatoes until golden and cooked through, then set aside.
- Sauté minced garlic in margarine until golden brown. Add diced onion and sliced bell peppers, cooking until soft.
- Mix in bay leaves and tomato paste, sauté for an additional two minutes.
- Add marinated beef and sauté until browned on all sides.
- Pour in liver spread, tomato sauce, and reserved marinade; sauté for five minutes.
- Add water and beef cube, cook until beef is tender, about one to two hours.
- Incorporate star anise and brown sugar, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Serve hot, garnished with fried potatoes.
Notes
For maximum flavor, marinate the beef longer. Use fresh ingredients for enhanced taste.
