Ingredients
- 4 chicken leg quarters
- 2 – 3 tablespoons BBQ seasoning (low sugar)
- ½ cup apple juice
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Start by removing all visible fat from the chicken quarters.
- Generously rub the BBQ seasoning all over the chicken leg quarters.
- Preheat your gas grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the chicken leg quarters on the grill in the center, where the burners are off.
- Cover the grill and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Mix the apple juice with the ½ cup of water in a spray bottle or bowl.
- After the initial cooking time, spray or baste the chicken with the apple juice mixture.
- Carefully turn the chicken using tongs.
- Cover and repeat the basting process every 10 to 15 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature of the chicken to reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Baste both sides of the chicken with barbecue sauce and place back on the grill for 5 minutes.
- Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Keep the grill clean and avoid lifting the lid too often for optimal results.
