Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package directions; drain.
  3. In a large skillet, cook onion and garlic until softened, then add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked ziti with the beef mixture and ricotta cheese.
  6. Transfer half of the mixture to a baking dish, top with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Add the remaining ziti mixture and top with the remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach. Try different cheeses for a unique twist.
