Description
A delightful dish that combines the savory crunch of perfectly baked chicken with a sweet and spicy honey sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken tenders or breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until combined.
- In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
- Place the panko breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl.
- Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
- Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Coat the chicken strips with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure they adhere well.
- Arrange the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crunchy.
- While the chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey sauce by combining honey, hot sauce, and melted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and warmed through, then remove from heat.
- Once the chicken is finished baking, remove it from the oven and either drizzle it with the hot honey sauce or serve the sauce on the side.
- Serve hot with additional sauce as desired.
