Description

A delightful dish that combines the savory crunch of perfectly baked chicken with a sweet and spicy honey sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken tenders or breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until combined.
  3. In a separate shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Place the panko breadcrumbs in another shallow bowl.
  5. Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess.
  6. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  7. Coat the chicken strips with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure they adhere well.
  8. Arrange the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking sheet and lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is golden and crunchy.
  10. While the chicken is baking, prepare the hot honey sauce by combining honey, hot sauce, and melted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until smooth and warmed through, then remove from heat.
  11. Once the chicken is finished baking, remove it from the oven and either drizzle it with the hot honey sauce or serve the sauce on the side.
  12. Serve hot with additional sauce as desired.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Avoid regular breadcrumbs for optimal crunch.
