Description
A delightful Asian dish featuring tender chicken covered in a sweet and tangy orange glaze, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, orange juice, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
- Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring every piece is well-coated, and let it soak for at least 30 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat, then add the marinated chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes.
- Pour in the remaining marinade and the cornstarch mixture, stirring until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
For richer flavor, marinate chicken for up to 2 hours. For a crispy texture, consider breading the chicken before cooking.
